District Education Programs

Education has always been a high priority in our Soil Conservation District.  We strive to provide education programs not only to our farm producers, but to the general public and to our youth.

Eco Ed (Ecology Education) Camps
Our largest youth outreach program is the Eco Ed program.  Each year we co-host with the Western Grand Forks County Soil Conservation District, camps at Turtle River State Park.  These camps include seventh grade students from all the public schools in the county.  Also invited are home schools students and parochial schools in the county.  You can find out more about the camps on the link below.

This will be our sixth year of providing students hands on learning at the beautiful Turtle River State Park.  We have joined forces with the Western Grand Forks County SCD so we can provide a service to the entire county.  Interested in what we do?  Follow our link to Eco Ed Camps!
Other Youth Education Programs
Our SCD considers education the key to a good future.  We are involved in many youth projects.  Follow the link to see more!

Adult Education and Public Outreach

We have many adult programs to address conservation in our area.  For the farmers, we have a booth each year at the International Crop Expo, we select an Achievement Award Winner each year,  and we participate in the annual Farmers Appreciation Night. Soil & Water Stewardship Week is for all citizens.  You can also follow the news link to our newsletters and annual reports to see what we have been up to over time.
