The Fordville Dam (Lower Forest River) Watershed covers approximately 45 square miles or 29,372 acres of north-western Grand Forks County, north-eastern Nelson County and south-western Walsh County.  The community of Dahlen is located within the watershed, and Fordville is nearby to the north.  The Fordville Dam and Recration Area offers picnic areas, camping, swimming and fishing.  Land use in the watershed includes irrigated cropland, livestock grazing, hunting, and wildlife habitat.  Deer, beaver, fisher, and bald eagle have been seen in the area.  For more information about the Fordville Dam Watershed Assessment project, click on the link.
