District Services Offered

Windbreak Design

This is a FREE service to help you get the most out of your planting.  Our Technician is trained to help you plant the tree/shrub varieties most suitable to your soils.  What other design factors should you be considering when you plant trees?

Tree planting, maintenance and services

We have equipment and staff to get your rural site ready to plant trees in the spring, or help you know what you need to do if you have the resources yourself.  What needs to be done?  Bill Allen can explain to you what you have to do to have a site ready.  Follow the link above for more information.

We offer low cost services to help you keep your tree planting healthy.  We have equipment including tractor, weed badger, tiller, and disk to deal with weed issues that can occur in your planting site.

Eco Ed (Ecology Education) Camps
This will be our sixth year of providing seventh grade students on hands learning at the beautiful Turtle River State Park.  We have joined forces with the Western Grand Forks County SCD so we can provide a service to the entire county.  Interested in what we do?  Follow our link to Eco Ed Camps!
Other Youth Education Programs

Our SCD considers education the key to a good future.  We are involved in many youth projects.  Follow the link to see more!

Adult Education and Public Outreach

We have many adult programs to address conservation in our area.  For the farmers, we have a booth each year at the International Crop Expo, we select an Achievement Award Winner each year,  and we participate in the annual Farmers Appreciation Night. Soil & Water Stewardship Week is for all citizens.  You can also follow the news link to our newsletters and annual reports to see what we have been up to over time.
